The St. Clair County Food Banc is currently in need of both monetary and nonperishable food donations as well as volunteers. One in six adults and one in six children in St. Clair County are food insecure. In previous years, the Food Banc would provide food to 325 individuals per month; however, this year, they have been providing to over 600 with 648 served in November alone. Those able to donate can drop off at the Food Banc, located at Fifth & Market St. in Osceola, on Tuesdays or at the Osceola Chamber of Commerce, located at 780 Second St., Monday through Friday. Monetary donations may also be mailed to St. Clair County Food Banc, P.O. Box 381, Osceola, Mo. 64776. Historically, with community assistance, the Food Banc has received enough food donations between Thanksgiving and New Years to keep their shelves filled until March when they begin to buy food from Ozarks Food Harvest, which is made possible through monetary donations. All assistance is appreciated.
