In early April, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in Clinton announced it will be offering a part-time 700-hour Basic Peace Officer Law Enforcement Academy via the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association. The academy will begin on July 8, 2025 and run through May 2026. Classes will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on occasional Sundays. The registration deadline is June 8. The MSA 700-hour Basic Peace Officer Academy exceeds the State of Missouri’s minimum basic training requirements for peace officer licensing.
