Since 1961, the Osceola business community, members of our community, and rodeo fans from all over have supported our local rodeo during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Over the years, this has turned Labor Day weekend into our most significant yearly event for the Osceola Community.
Each year, the event kicks off with a Thursday night street dance on the square, followed by a Friday night rodeo at the arena [on east Hwy. 82], sponsored by the St. Clair County Saddle Club, and a Saturday celebration on the square with vendors, events, and activities for the whole family, ending with our annual parade. The rodeo then continues Saturday and Sunday nights. Family and friends travel back to Osceola to visit family, old classmates, and friends, and support this long-standing tradition, along with many others from surrounding counties traveling to the Osceola area for the festivities.
The Osceola Optimist Club, along with its newly formed Friends of Rodeo Daze committee will continue the tradition for the 2025 Labor Day Event with this year's theme being "Bringing Back Tradition". We are looking to uphold the many years of community celebration and honor the foundation Rodeo Daze has been built upon. To do this, we are asking for your help with funding. We hope you will consider a donation or sponsorship to help our newly-formed committee continue our Labor Day traditions.
If you have questions, or would like to help, please email friendsofrodeodaze@gmail.com or contact Robin Listerud or Cheryl Quessenberry. Donations or sponsorships may be mailed by July 1, 2025 to Friends of Rodeo Daze, c/o Osceola Optimist Club, 760 N. Second St., PO Box 471, Osceola, MO 64776. [Editor's Note: Please see the Sponsor form published in the April 23 edition of the St. Clair County Courier or contact the committee.]
