A severe storm whipped through several counties in the south central portion of the state at the beginning of the month, causing damage to numerous wooded areas, vehicles, and structures, with a majority of the damage centered around Nevada, where a tornado touched down.
News staff at the St. Clair County Courier and Rich Hill Mining Review received several photos of the destruction, published in the April 9 editions of the newspapers.
