Longtime St. Clair County Northside Commissioner, Leroy Strope, retired at the end of the 2024 year after having served in the seat for 20 years.
Strope's position has since been filled by county resident Matthew Noakes, elected in the November 2024 General Election. Noakes will serve the county alongside Presiding Commissioner Robert ("Bob") Salmon and Southside Commissioner Randy Smith.
